Grace Community Center
Today, I visited the Grace Community Center in Downtown San Jose for a presentation. Not really knowing what to expect and strapped up with my backpack and laptop, I waited outside the place until 9 a.m. I wasn’t aware of what Grace Community Center did or any of the sort. But when I stepped out of that place about an hour later, I was completely amazed.
Grace Community Center in Downtown San Jose provides recreational and social activities for adults with developmental or mental disabilities six days a week, ever week of the year. The volunteers and directors hold countless activities like basketball or creative writing to engage the adults on an everyday basis. From this, the adults make new friends, learn how to play various games, and learn about the world around them.
After the presentation, several of the members told me that they would write stories for this cause and they’re currently on there way to us. You’ll see their wonderful experiences and recounts on our website soon!
I’d like to thank Dr. Blevins, Donna, and Stacey for allowing me to present at Grace Community Center and learn about the amazing things that you do to help the people with disabilities in our community.
